Skip Simpson Website Frequently Asked Questions About Psychiatric Malpractice

This is the lawyer view of the subject. If anyone is sued by this misleading land pirate, I would like to hear about the claim.

I am honored to know Skip Simpson. I am a suicide survivor and tragically know,first-hand, suicide can be the result of medical negligence. I, too, have a website. I suggest you check it out. It is: www.break-the-silence.org. I represent all those who have been victimized by poor mental health care. Until you stand in my shoes,do not judge this issue. Read my website and let me know if these suicides were not preventable.
I adore Skip Simpson for his brilliance, focus, courage and compassion. Every issue deserves a hero to fight the fight. And he is ours.

Denise: Thank you for your comment. I visited the website. It refers to a number of lawsuit complaints.

Is there any way you can scan the complaints and any other documents, such as deposition transcripts?

Then either post the documents on the site, let me have the link. If you prefer more privacy, email them as attachments. I would not post them without your permission. I would summarize the facts so our discussion has a valid basis.

I have no doubt Skip is a fine person. We just have to defend clinical care against the plunder of it by the legal system. Over 70% of cases are weak or frivolous.

I have never met a lawyer I did not like as a person.

SM,
The facts on my website are just that: THE FACTS. The Meadows knew clearly that both my brother, Matt, and Denise Dixon were ideating about suicide. In fact, Denise was at The Meadows, in part, for a failed suicide attempt. Our experts (who are renown and respected suicidologists) both stated that they had never seen such a clear-cut case of negligence as my brother's case. In fact, one stated to us that Matt literally had a neon sign on his forhead blinking "SUICIDAL" that was ignored. The fact that he was able to leave the ACUTE wing of a Level 1 Psychiatric Acute Hospital (fully licensed and JCAHO accredited) during the early morning hours completely UNDETECTED.......through unlocked and unmonitored doors.....and hang himself with HIS OWN belt borders on, in MY opinion, criminal negligence. Matt did not hide his thoughts or feelings from ANYONE while at The Meadows. Neither did Denise. Yes, there are lots of frivilous med-mal cases but there are also PLENTY of legitimate ones. So, please, reserve your stance to those cases that are truly "crapping up" our legal system and realize that some people DO die from medical malpractice......that could have easlily been prevented.

My website contains all you need. I keep it updated frequently so please continue to check it out for additional information.

Denise: What were the names of the plaintiff experts?

Can we have a copy of their testimony or their depositions?

Perhaps, I may find them persuasive.

If my website, and the information and facts contained therein, are not convincing enough to you then why would I believe that you would change your stance from knowing who our experts were or reading any depositions. Unfortunately for my brother, Denise Dixon and their families and friends there was, in my opinion, enough bad medicine practiced at The Meadows to irreversibly change the course of all of our lives forever. I understand your desire to defend your own. I was married to a Surgeon at one time but chose to leave that marriage because he forgot from where he came. He developed a "God-like" ego: something I did not want to endure for the long haul. So, yes, I understand your need to feel victimized everytime someone takes, in your opinion, a "pot shot" at your field, profession and colleagues. But, let's face it, we're all human and, yes, Doctors and those in the medical fields do make mistakes.....and people do die from those mistakes.

Again, continue to follow my work through my website and press. My Mission has just started.....

I want to review their depositions and opinions, for comment here. Why should something in the public record not be published for commentary?
